Traditional English pub serving homemade food and real ales. In the summer you can enjoy a cold drink in the picturesque beer garden or in winter cosy up next to the roaring open fires.
The Chequers Inn is truly one of England’s old traditional Inns with an history that can be traced back to 1540. Toby jugs and all manner of antiques adorn walls and ceilings in this busy olde-worlde environment, with its low beams and cosy alcoves, or you may wish to sit on the terrace amongst the hanging baskets and flowers.

Wines by the glass include Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Merlot and a comprehensive wine list. Food served includes snacks and sandwiches, starters main courses, desserts and coffees- all made on the premises by chef David Siddall. Food served Monday-Saturday 12noon-9pm and 12noon-6pm Sundays.
