Welcome to the Duke William Starkholmes

Jan, Phil and team took over in April 2018, since then some changes have happened. Firstly we have been taken over by Admiral Taverns in November 2019, this sadly means we no longer stock all Marston’s products but this does open up more choice of wine’s and real ales therefore giving you the customer a greater selection.

But before moving over to Admiral, Marston’s did as promised and worked their magic on this “old boy” leaving us with a modern but traditional country pub.

Phil has also worked hard on the campsite by installing 8 EHU points on the field for camper vans, motorhomes and caravans. We also had a new shower fitted which gives more room and decorated the toilets as well. We are looking into grey waste and chemical waste disposal which will take time and we thank you for your patience.  

We are in the beautiful Peak District only a 5 minute walk away to Hall Leys park where there is a lovely childrens playground, motor boats and “little David” the train also a Christmas market in December.

There are also plenty of other walks to do, including High Tor, Matlock Bath (illuminations in September) and Cromford Canal, Arkwright’s Mill and many more. 

We are a  family, muddy paws and boots friendly pub. There is also live entertainment every Saturday night.
