The Cross Keys is a mix of architecture. The western end of the building was built in the 16th century as a shop, legend has it that the large vertical timber that forms the corner of this early building is an oak tree which was left in the ground and the shop was built around it!

The later 17th,18th and 19th century elements of the building add hugely to the charm and romance that is the Cross Keys today.
