In September 2016 The Red Lion was taken on by husband & wife, chef Daniel and landlady Narelle who have over 45 years’ experience in the industry between them. This unique marriage delivers a focus and an emphasis to provide and combine luscious food and drink with a friendly service in relaxed surroundings. Together with their team, they bring their vast experience and know-how, combined with their imaginative creative food and high standards of friendly service to offer a great experience every time you visit us.
A Taste… Your fancy might be as simple as our freshest caught hake from the south coast, coated and fried in the The Red Lions Sourdough Beer Batter served with hand cut chips, chunky Tartare and Garden peas. Or for the dedicated love of a well-cooked steak try from The Red Lions extensive grill menu, a cut of Aubrey Allen’s carefully selected grass feed & dry aged beef.
Home of The Roast… Roast dinners include Aubrey’s Rib of Beef, West-country Lamb, Vegetable Wellington & The Red Lions Signature Mini Hog Roast. It comes with no surprise but upmost certainty you’ll need to make a booking well ahead on Sundays!
Our enclosed garden is perfect for anyone just wanting to enjoy a drink or two in the sunshine, families with young children are safe in the knowledge that their children can’t run off and we are very dog friendly. Our enclosed oak post and glass patio complete with festoon lighting and sails is designed to be an extension of our restaurant in the warmer months and provides a little bit of shelter.
